Canyon De Chelly
Made a bead with Psyche and it turned out gorgeous but I thought the Canyon de Chelly would be darker? Did I overcook it? Is it a glass that loses it's color in the kiln at higher annealing temps? Let me guess, I have to work it cool?

I work it cool to keep colors- but in big beads it does lose color variation and lighten a bit - I have some samples up at http://phoenixartsupplies.com/canyon-de-chelly.php
I work hot and big in most cases- but you can see some of the variations here

Wow, Amber, I love that bead so much the way it is.
Learn something new every day though.

Nice bead, Amber. I got something quite different with Canyon and Psyche.

Kevan - Yeah see, that's what I thought I would get - a nice caramel color... Hmmmmm...
Thanks for the info, Jessica! I'll go take a look and see if I can get this to darken up a bit.

I get quiet a range in shade with canyon too. Just look at the spacers. Who knew it was flame temp? I just thought it was cool

You're on a minor, right, Kevan? I'm a HotHead so I have to do things a little differently. I noticed it was pretty stiff so I'll just crank up the heat and supercook to see what happens. LOL This is really my first CIM glass, besides Hades.
