Default Show your PLEAT beads!!! help also needed


Here's my first Pleat beads that I also put in Wednesdays Gallery. I'm having trouble with the pleat making it all the way to the holes.

Heres a blury picture of my first paddle. White in the center, light amber and dark amber.
All ideas welcome for the beads!

Those sure look good to me! Do you melt the sides in first?, that should draw the glass down toward the mandrel. Nice job..

Hi Teena, your pleated beads are very nice! I like how the amber looks in the pleat. To stretch the pleats towards the mandrel, try adding 2 wraps of clear on either side of the center wrap of clear, touching just the clear. I use an entire rod of clear just on encasing the twisty before the disc is melted down.

Here's my favorite pleated bead so far. I made it last month.
