I don't work with boro. I've never really done implosions.
But your tutorial is really great. It's easy to understand
what you're doing and you make me want to try it. 8-)

Thanks for sharing. It makes me realize how small our world
is when I see a chilipepper kiln, just like mine, in your photos
and know that yours is in Romania.

I love the accent too, I felt like I was watching a Mission Impossible clip, because I am sure that is what it will be like for me to try and make it. I will give it a shot though. Happy Turkey Day all of you and thanks so much for the tutorial.

Way tougher then it looks, tried 2 times with no luck :( i cant seem to get my encased rod right because the colors did not separate, I seem to be getting to much color and not enough white and then of course I'm still a noob and I could not get them to implode straight. Lets just say i got some cool looking drop style pendents out of them lol could not waste the glass so made something out of the mess i had going :)

Well, If you show me what you came up with I can tell you how to improve..
The countour color must be apllied thinner over the base color. Pull a 3mm stringer of the contour color and apply it over a full size rod of the base color (which is about 7-8mm)..

Keeping the whole thing perfectly centered is essential of course but you can only reach that with practice... Yours probably came out just like my first ones...

thanks everyone!

Ahoy! Thanks for the great video!

BTW, my daughter visited Romania a couple years ago. Beautiful country, but the cab drivers scared her. LOL!

AcidFly

Thanks for the tips voic. Yes centering the rod is my main problem but like you said practice. I also thought the same i had to thick of a coating. I turned the first ones onto drop pendents so these not much left to show you lol but i will try again tonight and let you know how i make out :)

thx for the help :)

Mine sort of worked in soft glass (I use bullseye). But I'm not very good with implosions. More practice needed.

Great tut! Definitely gonna have to try these next time on the torch. Ever try doing the spider with a different background, instead of petals? Thanks for the insperatu...

voic

Hey Kathy.. Yeah its a beautiful country.. too bad we the people kind of suck.. especially the ones who decide for us... but thats anoter story..
Never worked with soft glass.. im still pretty new to lampworking .. 'working for 2 years now but at an average of an hour a day.. with big brakes.. so besides a few sculptures and marbles I only did implosion pendants.. only boro..

I tried the spiders with some kind of web (posted them a while back).. but these ones are much better in my opinion.. any other suggestions? :)

Have a great weekend!

Awesome job of explaining the process and inspiring viewers to give it a try. And yes, your voice is very nice. Some people are so annoying to listen to that I turn down the volume and just watch their hands, I couldn't have done that with your video so it is nice that your voice is smooth and clear.

Good music on your other video. Good camera angles too. Great job and thanks for sharing.

I'll give this a go with furnace glass colors and if it isn't too embarrassing I'll post pictures.

Those spiders are amazing and beautiful. They look like the tarantula we saw in Yosemite National Park about a month ago.

I don't think my hothead is up to the task, but your tut is very well done, and I loved watching the process. Thanks so much for taking the time to share.

I just received my spider and I love it! It is so much nicer then the picture! Totally Awesome! Fantastic! One of my favorites in my collection! I love that it is so different but still an implosion.
I could keep going and going praising his pendants! The pictures do not show how intricate the design really is. They are just beautiful pendants!

I also like the way he puts the loop on the back. This is done perfectly also. The workmanship is truely wonderful.

Thank you so much for the tutorial!!!! I think that my implosion skills are half-way decent, so I'm going to give it a try! I'll post the results after the weekend. If mine turns out even 30% like yours Voic, I'll be pleased!

PS. I LOVE the sexy accent!
